“Hired, Fired, and Lurking Death”
~~~The Next Day~~~
~~~ Green Estate-Library - 12:10 pm~~~
Thallo Green lights his cigar as a tall woman enters the room.
“Chelsea,” Thallo nods
The woman lifts her sunglasses and puts them on top of her head.
“You know we aren’t supposed to be seen together.” She crosses her arms
“Yes I know.” Thallo plays with his lit cigar.
“Well? What’s the deal?” asks the woman, Chelsea Maraschino.
“Donald Yale has become close to the idea of leaving this organization,” Thallo puts his cigar back in his mouth, “I want him dead.”
Mrs. Maraschino smiles slightly, “You mentioned two people on the telephone, who’s the other?”
“Vera Scarlet.” Thallo smiles evilly
“Vera?” Mrs. Maraschino gasps, “Why does she know about… you know…”
“You mean regarding her father?” Thallo asks, “Well, it turns out the James was recently killed, so that means only you, I, and Al know the truth about him.”
“What about Al?” Mrs. Maraschino asks
“Oh, I’ve got him taken care of.” Thallo says, “The only good Mr. Yale has done was slip a tracker inside of the leather around Sir Black’s suitcase.”
Chelsea smiles broadly, “And do we kill him?”
“Not just yet.” Mr. Green says, “Al is in as much shock, why else would he have conspired the faulty plan with Alice Peacock!”
“You mean it wasn’t an accident?” Chelsea gasps
“Philip Whyte knew too much.” Mr. Green says, “It’s no wonder he died.”
“So he knew about Scarlet too?” asks Chelsea
“I wouldn’t be surprised if Forest knows by now.” Thallo says
~~~ Peacock Residence-Hall- 12:15 pm~~~
Colonel Mustard is on a ladder. Mrs. Peacock holds it steady. A large banner spans above the staircase. It reads: ‘Welcome Home Vera’.
The front door opens and an elderly couple enter.
“Robin!” Mrs. Peacock throws her arms around the man, Senator Robin Peacock
“Alice, how are you?” he smiles widely
“Happy as always!” Alice puts on a happy face
The woman comes over to Mrs. Peacock and put her gloved hand from under her mink shawl.
“You remember my wife, Evelyne?” Sen. Peacock smiles
“Wonderful to see you again.” Evelyne says, acting much more upper class that Alice
“Charmed as well.” Alice Peacock rolls her eyes over to the ladder.
Colonel Mustard politely clears his throat.
“Oh, yes.” Alice cheers up again, “This is my dear friend Michael Mustard.”
“Pleasure.” Colonel Mustard smiles, “I’d shake your hand but I’m a little occupied.”
“I understand completely.” Sen. Peacock smiles
“So, Alice,” Evelyne Peacock smirks, “Are you already tired of the Peacock family name and are moving on to… Mustard was it?”
“Evelyne,” Sen. Peacock laughs, “Not now.”
“Michael and I aren’t ready for that commitment!” Alice says
“Oh, but you still have your eye on another man… that shows something.” Evelyne says
“Evelyne, why don’t we let Alice and the Colonel set up in here.” Sen. Peacock tries to remain his jolly self, “I think I remember where the Drawing Room is.”
Alice points to a set of double doors on the left wall. They enter the Drawing Room.
Colonel Mustard waits for a few moments, “And who are they?”
“My late husband’s brother and his fluffy wife.” Alice smirks
~~~ Michael Reese-Miss Scarlet’s Room- 12:24 pm~~~
Dr. Bisque is looking rather worried, Inspector Silverson and Detective Pine hound Vera with questions.
“So he was about six-four, grimy, white beard and hair…” Inspector Silverson reviews his notebook
“It was so dark, I only saw him for a couple seconds.” Miss Scarlet says, “He seemed almost like a ghost.”
“Have you ever met this man before?” asks Inspector Silverson
Miss Scarlet looks away for a couple seconds and then back at Inspector Silverson, “No.” she lies, “I’ve never met him.”
“Well Miss Scarlet, I can’t say we’ve met anyone like this, maybe we’ll check around the docks of Lake Michigan and see is anyone knows who we are referring to.”
Inspector Silverson and Detective Pine leave the room. Dr. Bisque comes over to her bedside.
“Is there something you aren’t telling the police?” he asks
“Doctor Bisque, they put me under an oath!” Miss Scarlet says pretending to take offense
“I see,” he says
Nurse Tennre enters the room, “Time for your medicine.”
“Nurse,” Dr. Bisque says
Nurse Tennre turns shocked to see Dr. Bisque, for he was out of her sight as she entered.
“Oh, Dr. Bisque,” she stutters, “I didn’t know you were here.”
“Maple, Vera is not in need for medicine, she is leaving tonight.” Dr. Bisque says
“Oh.” She blushes
“You say you are a transfer?” Dr. Bisque asks
“Ah, yes sir.” She says quickly and nervously
“From where?” asks Dr. Bisque
“Uh… Bluewood… Bluewood Memorial, it’s in Michigan, I was born there.”
Dr. Bisque takes a small radio out of his pocket, “Send security up here.” He speaks into it
“Great.” ‘Nurse’ Tennre mumbles under her breath she glances at a syringe laying on the medical counter.
~~~ Peacock Residence-Drawing Room- 12:27 pm~~~
Evelyne pours herself a glass of Scotch and sits next to her husband on the sofa. Alice and Michael enter.
“So,” Alice sits down in a Victorian style armchair, “How was the flight?”
“Not a lot of turbulence.” Sen. Peacock says pouring a glass of Scotch and handing it to Alice
“Thank you.” She smiles
“Colonel?” he asks
“Oh no, I’ll be having enough at the party tonight.” Colonel Mustard smiles
“I’d like a game of snooker but I’m not sure if I’d feel safe leaving you ladies alone.” Sen. Peacock chucles
Alice politely returns a chuckle.
“You gentlemen have fun.” Alice says
“Very well.” Sen. Peacock says exiting after Colonel Mustard
Once they are gone Evelyne examines her nails, “So when is the party going to start?”
Alice glares at an antique paperweight, in the shape of the Eiffel Tower, “Oh it’s about to begin.”
